There is an archeological dig going on in the area of South  Carolina where this play takes place. They have found human remains older than the Clovis People. So DIG DEEPER!

You may think you know who I am
You may think you know where I’ve been
All you see before you is a humble mass of clay
An ordinary human on an ordinary day
But all the world has secrets that wait to be unmasked
That wait for the right questions to be asked

So, Dig Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper, Ah-ah

There’s things about this earth you think you know
Well, I’m here to tell you those things may not be so
If you strip away the layers, one by one
You may see a thing or two exposed by the sun

So, Dig Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh

What do you think would have happened
Way down in old Egypt Land
If they gave up in the Valley of Kings
And the treasure was left in the sand

They dug deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper, Ah-ah

There’s things about ourselves that we don’t know
“Cause we never had the chance to see what lies below
Are we heroes in disguise, Are we sinners in disgrace
Where do we look to find that inner strength?

We dig deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh

What do you think would have happened
On the beaches of Normandy
If the brave men landing there had turned tail
And were driven right back to the sea

They dug deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper, Ah-ah    Ah-ah

If you’re seeking that courage or looking for gold
Keep asking those questions, Keep searching your soul
There’s a tale waiting to unfold

So dig deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
Deeper duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
