You’re listening to For Baby. Way back in 1968 while attending college in San Bernardino, California, I met two of the most extraordinary singers I’ve ever known, Debby Kovitz and Bobby De Jonckheere. We started a trio and called ourselves Chauncey’s Garden after our manager Chauncey Romero. Chauncey owned a music store in Redlands, California called the ‘House of Note’.

We walked in off the street one day and sang for him. He liked what he heard and introduced us to Dan Dalton, a Hollywood record producer that he knew. Dan changed our name to The Dove and we scored a recording contract with Amos Records, a subsidiary of Warner Brothers. We actually released a single, Baby You Come Rollin’ Cross My Mind , which made it to the top 100 of the Billboard chart.

Unfortunately our group had to disband when Debby moved to Israel. Debby and I lost touch with Bobby for over 40 years. He recently found us again through Facebook. We were reunited June, 2011 and again sang our signature song in concert.
